“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”

—The Bhagavad Gita

.: private yoga :.

Yoga is a South Asian practice that engages body, mind, and spirit. It is not about policing or perfecting the body—it’s an invitation into compassionate self-study. At its heart, yoga is a path toward connection and liberation, both personal and collective.

Private yoga sessions are tailored to meet your unique needs, interests, and curiosities. Some people seek out private sessions after experiencing harm in Western yoga spaces. Others want to dive deeper into the broader system of yoga, or focus on specific areas—like learning the mechanics of a headstand or exploring breathing techniques to support anxiety.

Together, we’ll adapt asana (postures), pranayama (breath and energy practices), and meditation in ways that feel accessible and supportive for you, while honoring the roots and lineages of yoga. We’ll take time to look at your movement patterns, postural habits, and explore practices that invite ease, spaciousness, and presence.

Rather than forcing change, we create the conditions that allow it to emerge naturally. Each session is guided by ahimsanon-harm and anti-violence—welcoming your whole self into the practice.

Private sessions are especially beneficial for those with limited mobility, injuries, or chronic health conditions. Chair yoga, bed yoga, or other accessible modifications are always available. I have a strong understanding of hypermobility, pelvic health challenges, and how trauma can manifest in the body.

We begin each session by checking in—what’s present in your body, what’s weighing on your heart, and what kind of support you’re craving.

We’ll establish a care plan based on your needs and desires.

.: private yoga for pelvic health :.

The pelvis can hold pain, tension, and trauma—but it can also be a source of repair and growth. These sessions offer a chance to build a new, more intimate relationship with your pelvis through breath, awareness, and movement. Together, we’ll develop supportive, sustainable practices that enhance your pelvic health.

Yoga for pelvic health focuses on the specific muscles, organs, and movement patterns related to the pelvis. With education around anatomy, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of your own body. We’ll assess your unique pelvic health needs and explore asana, pranayama, and mudras (energetic gestures) tailored to your experience.

These sessions are especially supportive for those navigating:

  • Pelvic pain

  • Pelvic organ prolapse

  • Incontinence or leaking

  • Endometriosis or adenomyosis

  • Painful periods

  • Vulvodynia, vaginismus, or vestibulodynia

We hold space for the nuanced relationships between the pelvis, trauma, gender, and sexuality. As a queer person living with endometriosis and pelvic pain, I bring not only formal training but also personal experience to this work. I recognize the ways hormone therapy, gender-affirming practices, and surgeries can impact pelvic health, and I’m here to support you with care and respect.

Through this practice, you'll gain both a richer understanding of your pelvis and practical tools to support your well-being—on and off the mat.

.: peer reviewed studies about yoga :.

Association between yoga and multimorbidity: a nationwide study of 279,885 middle-aged and older adults (2025) was a cross-sectional study pooled nationally representative surveys from Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System.

“[Our] results suggested that practicing yoga for at least one hour or one time per week may provide sufficient health benefit, further underscoring the potential of yoga as a time-efficient and effective strategy for improving overall health and managing chronic conditions… yoga was found to be significantly associated with lower odds of multimorbidity [two or more long-term illnesses] and individual chronic conditions…”

Reducing Stress with Yoga: A Systematic Review Based on Multimodal Biosignals (2024) studied 105 reviews incorporating biosignals to detect stress levels during the practice of Yoga.

“The incorporation of deliberate, measured movements, conscious breathing, and mindfulness strategies in yoga exercises facilitates the stimulation of the PNS [parasympathetic] nervous system, resulting in a state of relaxation. With consistent engagement, yoga has the potential to reshape habitual stress responses, cultivating resilience and emotional balance over time.”
